Examples of Success
Since my last (overdue) post I have had the chance to capture two completely different versions of success. One is a way of rewarding yourself, and one is a matter of award.
Recently I was asked to photograph the new luxury apartments in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia, The Royal Athena. These apartments are wonderful examples of what luxury living can be in the Philadelphia area. Each apartment has a large kitchen, large bathrooms, plenty of space to sit back and relax and recharge. All brand new everything and all high end.
The Royal Athena is a way to spoil yourself each and every day. You have earned it after all. You are the one that has gone out and made something of yourself why shouldn’t your reward and give yourself a bit of pampering.
Take a look at these images and imagine you living here with a view of the river, very close to Fairmount Park, close to the trains for a quick 15 minute train ride to downtown. Did I mention amenities? Tons! Shooting this place was a lot of fun.
The other example of success is one of hard work, advocacy, providing and sharing opportunity, and one of honor. Just last week I had the privilege of photographing one of the winners of the Philadelphia Business Journal 2016 LGBT Business of Pride Awards, Jade Gasper.
Jade is the founder and owner of Mark It Alternatives, and Get Soxy (get your Soxy on), two southern New Jersey based businesses. Mark It Alternatives is Jade’s promotional items company, but while helping promote many different companies in the Philadelphia area Jade has never stopped promoting equality and inclusion with, and for, the LGBT community. Jade is an example of leadership, respect, and community. She photographs well too!
These are two totally different versions of success. Both represent what it can mean to be successful and they aren’t mutually exclusive; you can be one and have the other!
What’s your definition of success?
